Grandma's story

They say necessity is the mother of invention. In the case of CompuMed, necessity was the Grandmother of invention. One Monday, 93-year-old Grandma took all her pills for the day before noon. She took a nap and when she got up, she thought it was Tuesday and took her medication again. This simple mistake led to a trip to the emergency room, a three-day hospital stay, and a $3,200 medical bill.

We thought, surely, there must be a tamperproof product that could help. One that would give Grandma the right medicine at the right time and  remind her how to take it. There wasn't. So, out of necessity, we developed CompuMed. That was twelve years ago.

Since then, caregivers all over the world have used CompuMed. Many have suggested  improvements, such as our voice module or telephone tie-in that we have added to our basic dispensing system.

If taking the right medication at the right time is important to you or those you care for, contact us at info@compumed.com or call us at 1-800-722-4417.
